Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter)

You've got your Private Pilot Licence and can now fly helicopters where and when you want. Now you want to go further and are considering obtaining a Commercial Pilot Licence. With this qualification you can carry out a wide variety of work, including corporate transport, aerial filming and photography, power and pipe line inspection, fire fighting, search and rescue, off-shore transport and police and air ambulance work.

The opportunities are endless and our team will do our best to ensure that you choose the right career path to ensure you get the best from your commercial licence.

The requirements for the CPL(H) course are as follows:

Before undertaking the Flight Test (skill test) applicants must pass the CPL(H) or ATPL(H) Theoretical Knowledge examinations.

We do not undertake the ground instruction for these exams but our team will be happy to help with your decision on where to carry out the ground school tuition with specialist tutors.

As soon as you have obtained the necessary number of hours and passed the theoretical exams, Highmark Aviation Ltd is able to offer flight training for the course.

Flight Training

The CPL(H) Modular Course consists of 30 hours dual instruction time and additional 5 hours flight training is necessary to obtain a night rating.

The flight training is carried out at the aerodrome with our approved CAA flight instructor.

Prior to the final flight test with the CAA Examiner, you must pass a pre-flight test (170A) as part of the course to determine your ability to succeed in the final skill test.

Skill Test

The final flight test is carried out by an examiner from the Civil Aviation Authority. There are 5 sections in the skill test and applicants are required to pass them all. We have a 100% pass rate in the CPL(H) flight test.

We will endeavour to book your flight test as close as possible to the end of your flight training course.

The course can usually be completed within 12-16 days and we can schedule bookings to suit your other commitments.

We also specialise in offering conversions of Non JAA professional licences to a JAR-FCL CPL(H).

Please Contact Us to discuss the course and a career in commercial helicopter aviation.

The flight training cost is 35 hours at £285 + VAT per hour, based on the Robinson R22.
